Welcome to Ingredient Spotlight! At Mom of 11 Kids, we’re proud of the natural ingredients that we have hand-selected for our products. We searched for oils with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and soothing properties. Every last ingredient is helping in some way to help heal and protect even the most sensitive skin. When we say no unnecessary ingredients, we mean it.


This week, we’re taking a closer look at Chamomile Oil.

What is it?

Why did we choose it?

Chamomile oil has both antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. It is beneficial as an aromatherapy agent.

An Overview

Chamomile oil is produced by Anthemis nobilis (chamaemelum nobile) of the family species Asteraceae. It has a sweet, light apple-like fragrance.

Aside from the proven skin benefits above, there are a number of potential benefits, or benefits that others have claimed online.

  • May help reduce inflammation and redness caused by acne and eczema
  • May help ease and heal sun burns
  • Can help ease blemishes and even the skin tone
  • May be effective when it comes to treating dandruff – soothes scalp, and hydrates
  • Can be used to brighten blonde hair – simply rinse with just a couple drops!
  • Can help moisturize and strengthen dry and brittle hair
  • Just a couple drops massaged into your baby’s skin may help him sleep sounder (warning: never use directly on the skin, but mix a couple drops with baby oil; rinse with warm water)
  • A whiff may help eliminate feelings of sadness or depression

Chamomile oil is a jack of all trades, which makes it a great addition to the Mom of 11 Kids ingredient list.
