#1: Bathrobe. For those unexpected visitors who show up – hurry up, grab that robe!

#2: Your own pillows. Nothing will be comfier than having a small piece of home with you.

#3: Headband. Keep that hair tame, girl! This will keep you from feeling too frumpy.

#4: Your own shampoo & soap. Who knew your own shampoo and soap could be so luxurious? It’s true when you are dealing with hospital soap and shampoo, trust us. You’ll start feeling like yourself again.

#5: Lip balm. Your lips will get super dry, since you are not allowed to eat or drink. This will do the trick!

#6: Cell phone & charger. To capture those precious moments, of course. Seriously – don’t forget the charger!

#7: Toothbrush/Toothpaste. Again, having your own will help you feel yourself.

#8: Sports/Nursing bras. Here comes the milk! Having sports and/or nursing bras will be imperative. (Don’t forget some baby-safe nipple cream!)

#9: Slippers. Comfort is key, and slippers are at the top of the comfy list.

#10: Baby book. Are you keeping a book of your baby’s firsts? Make sure you bring it to have their little footprint stamped!

#11: Going-home outfit. Ready to face the outside world again? Make sure you’re comfy and stylish all-in-one. Loose-fitted pants and a comfy top will be key. Summer time? Try a flowing maxi dress!

Okay, now that you have the musts, what about the other stuff? Here are a list of things you may feel like you should be bringing, but in reality, the hospital will have you covered!

  • Slipper socks
  • Nightgown – if you do not want to wear the johnny, jammies may make your must-have list.
  • Pads – and lots of ‘em!
  • Granny panties – unpretty, but will be your best friend.

Bag packed and ready to go? Okay, now it’s time to focus on Daddy and Baby. Be sure to come back next week to find out what you should pack for those two!
